MOUNT KIGALI UNIVERSITY UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS 2026
Applications are now open for the Mount Kigali University Undergraduate Scholarships 2026 for students interested in pursuing Health Science programmes in Rwanda. Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply for scholarship opportunities available in the Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science and Bachelor of Dental Therapy programmes. The scholarship covers tuition fees only and aims to support students pursuing careers in Rwanda’s healthcare sector. Register now for new programs at The Light of Engineering.
The scholarship programme is offered by Mount Kigali University in collaboration with the Ministry of Health Rwanda under the Government of Rwanda’s 4x4 Strategy Initiative. The initiative aims to strengthen Rwanda’s healthcare system by increasing the number of qualified health professionals across the country.
SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS
Selected candidates will receive the following benefits:
- Full tuition fee sponsorship
- Opportunity to pursue undergraduate studies in Health Sciences
- Support through the Government of Rwanda healthcare initiative
- Increased employment opportunities within Rwanda’s healthcare sector after graduation
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must have completed general secondary education
Must have studied one of the following subject combinations:
- Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB)
- Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology (MCB)
- Biology, Chemistry, and Geography (BCG)
- Must have obtained at least grades A, B, C, or D in both Biology and Chemistry
Additional Conditions
- Students currently benefiting from another government scholarship are not eligible
- Graduates from other universities are not eligible
- Any violation of application requirements may lead to disqualification and further sanctions depending on the level of violation
AVAILABLE PROGRAMMES
The scholarship is available for the following undergraduate programmes:
- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (4 Years)
- Bachelor of Dental Therapy (4 Years)
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Applicants are required to prepare the following documents:
- High School Certificate
- National ID
- Passport-size photograph
- Active Gmail account
- Mobile phone number
All documents should be scanned clearly using a mobile phone scanning application such as CamScanner.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Step 1: Prepare Your Documents
- Scan your High School Certificate and National ID clearly
- Take a passport-size photograph
- Save all required documents on your phone or email for easy access
Step 2: Create an Application Account
- Visit the Mount Kigali University Admission Portal
- Create an account on the UNIRP system
- Enter your full names correctly
- Select your country of origin
- Enter your valid Gmail address
- Click “Send OTP” to verify your email
Step 3: Verify Your Email Address
- Open your Gmail inbox and check for the OTP verification email
- If not found, check the SPAM folder
- Copy the 4-digit OTP code and paste it into the verification box
- Click “Verify Email”
- A confirmation message will appear after successful verification
Step 4: Complete Registration
- Enter your mobile phone number
- Create a password for your account (Example: Application@123)
- Select your province and district
- Tick the checkbox “I’m not a robot”
- Click the “Register” button
Step 5: Login and Apply
- Login using your Gmail address and password
- Access the application dashboard
- Click on “All” and select “Undergraduate”
- Search for:
- Dental Therapy
- Medical Laboratory Sciences
- Click the “Apply” button once the programme appears
Important Application Note
In the “Address Line 1” text box, applicants should indicate either:
- APP-Dental Therapy
- APP-Medical Laboratory Sciences
Applicants are advised to keep their application number safely after submission.
Applicants experiencing challenges during the application process may visit the Admission Office at Kicukiro Gate with physical copies of their documents for assistance.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Eligible candidates will sit for an admission test scheduled for Monday, 18 May 2026
- Final scholarship selection will depend on admission test performance
- Selected students will sign a contract with the Ministry of Health Rwanda
- Beneficiaries will serve for a designated period after graduation within Rwanda’s healthcare system
- There will be no binding refund contract
