Rwanda Correctional Service (RCS) Recruitment 2026: Application Requirements, Eligibility Criteria and Interview Schedule
The Rwanda Correctional Service (RCS) has officially announced a nationwide recruitment exercise for new office personnel. Qualified and interested Rwandans are invited to submit their applications to join the institution and contribute to maintaining correctional services and national security.
According to the announcement issued by the Human Resource Management Department of the Rwanda Correctional Service, applications will be received from 10 June 2026 to 29 June 2026, and successful applicants will later be invited for interviews scheduled across different regions of the country.
Application Period
Candidates are required to submit their applications within the following period:
- Opening Date: 10 June 2026
- Closing Date: 29 June 2026

Applicants must submit a completed application form accompanied by a recent passport-size photograph.
General Eligibility Requirements
Applicants seeking to join Rwanda Correctional Service must satisfy the following conditions:
- Be a Rwandan citizen.
- Possess good physical and mental health.
- Have good morals and integrity.
- Have no criminal record.
- Not have been dismissed from public service.
- Have fulfilled statutory obligations where applicable.
- Enjoy a good reputation within society.
- Be ready to serve anywhere in the country.
- Have never been convicted by a competent court.
Age Requirements
For Bachelor's Degree Holders
Applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Not exceed 25 years of age.
However, candidates holding qualifications in the following priority fields may apply up to the age of 27 years:
- Medicine
- Engineering
- Nursing
- Law
- Education
- Veterinary Medicine
- Clinical Psychology
Academic Classification Requirements
Applicants must have obtained:
- First Class Honours (A1) from IPRC institutions; or
- Second Class Upper Division (A0) from universities.
Priority will be given to graduates from:
- Medicine
- Engineering
- Nursing
- Law
- Education
- Veterinary Medicine
- Clinical Psychology
For Advanced Level (A2) Certificate Holders
Applicants must:
- Be between 18 and 21 years old.
- Have obtained at least six principal passes (A2).
- Possess Rwandan nationality.
- Have achieved a minimum aggregate of 70% in science combinations.
Priority consideration will be given to graduates from the University of Rwanda in:
- General Medicine
- General Nursing
- Computer Engineering
- Dental Surgery
Required Application Documents
Candidates are required to submit the following documents:
- Application letter.
- Copy of National Identity Card.
- Notarized academic certificates.
- Certificate of good conduct issued by local authorities.
- Criminal record certificate.
- Marriage certificate (where applicable).
- Medical certificate issued by a recognized doctor.
Incomplete applications may not be considered.
Interview Schedule
Shortlisted candidates will sit for interviews from 30 June 2026 to 02 July 2026 according to their respective provinces and districts.
Northern Province
Candidates from:

- Burera
- Gakenke
- Rulindo
will attend interviews in Musanze District on 30 June 2026.
Western Province: Rubavu Centre – 30 June 2026
Applicants from:
- Rubavu
- Nyabihu
- Ngororero
- Rutsiro
will sit for interviews in Rubavu.
Rusizi Centre – 02 July 2026
Applicants from:
- Rusizi
- Nyamasheke
- Karongi
will attend interviews in Rusizi.
Eastern Province
Applicants from:
- Rwamagana
- Kayonza
- Ngoma
- Kirehe
- Gatsibo
- Nyagatare
will sit for interviews at the Kayonza District Office on 30 June 2026.
Southern Province: Huye Centre – 30 June 2026
Candidates from:
- Huye
- Nyamagabe
- Nyaruguru
- Gisagara
will sit for interviews in Huye.
Muhanga Centre – 01 July 2026
Applicants from:
- Muhanga
- Nyanza
- Ruhango
- Kamonyi
will attend interviews in Muhanga.
Kigali City and Bugesera District
Applicants from:

- Gasabo
- Kicukiro
- Bugesera
will sit for interviews at the Gasabo District Office on 01 July 2026.
