Internship Details
Position: Paid Accounting Interns (5 Positions)
Duration: 1–6 Months
Location: Kigali, Rwanda
Reports To: Senior Accountants
There is also a possibility of securing a permanent position after successful completion of the internship.
Key Responsibilities
Selected interns will work alongside senior accountants and gain hands-on experience in real-world accounting operations. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing clients’ daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Assisting with statutory filings to RRA, RSSB, and RDB
- Supporting annual financial audits and preparation of audit reports
- Participating in financial compilations and audit execution
- Assisting with tax advisory and identifying tax risks
- Solving accounting and financial issues for clients
- Preparing business contracts and proposals
- Supporting process improvements in accounting procedures
- Performing additional tasks assigned by supervisors
Required Qualifications
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or completed studies awaiting graduation
- Pursuing or holding CPA, ACCA, or other IFAC-accredited accounting qualifications is an advantage
- Strong command of English and Kinyarwanda
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Minimum of one year of experience in accounting or finance-related work
- Familiarity with Xero, QuickBooks Online, or other accounting software
- Knowledge of Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) e-tax systems
- Experience preparing audit reports and financial documents
- Previous accounting firm experience is an added advantage but not mandatory
