The Government of the Republic of Indonesia officially invites applications for the Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) Scholarship 2026, a prestigious fully funded scholarship program for international students from developing countries. This scholarship offers qualified candidates the opportunity to pursue Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degrees at leading Indonesian universities while experiencing Indonesia's rich academic and cultural environment.

The KNB Scholarship is administered by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of Indonesia, through the Directorate General of Higher Education, in collaboration with 47 accredited Indonesian host universities.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

Be citizens of developing countries with diplomatic relations with Indonesia
Meet the age limits:
- Bachelor: Maximum 21 years old
- Master: Maximum 35 years old
- Doctorate: Maximum 40 years old
- As of December 31, 2026
Hold the required academic qualifications for the chosen degree level
Meet minimum English proficiency requirements (unless exempted)
Be physically and mentally healthy
Commit to full-time study in Indonesia and comply with scholarship regulations

📊 English Proficiency Requirements

Minimum scores required (certificate valid within last 2 years):

TOEFL ITP: 477
TOEFL iBT: 53
IELTS: 5.5
TOEIC: 510

                Exemptions: Applicants from English-speaking countries or those who completed previous degrees in English (with official proof) are exempt.
            

📄 Required Documents

Applicants are required to submit:

Official passport (valid until at least December 31, 2027)
Academic certificates and transcripts (legalized)
Curriculum Vitae (CV)
English proficiency test certificate (if applicable)
Recommendation letter from the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate
Academic and professional recommendation letters
Medical examination report (including physical exam, infectious disease screening, mental health test, and drug test)
Statement of purpose or research proposal (Doctorate applicants)
A personal motivation video (maximum 5 minutes, uploaded to YouTube)

Important: All documents must be in English or Bahasa Indonesia.

Apply for a recommendation letter from the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate in your country
Complete and submit the online application through the KNB portal
Participate in administrative screening, academic selection, interviews, and psychological tests (if required)

All academic programs are conducted in Bahasa Indonesia
Selected students must attend a compulsory Indonesian Language Training (BIPA) program
Changing universities or study programs after selection is not permitted
Scholarship recipients must return to their home countries after completing the program
Marriage is not permitted during the scholarship period
